Reims fell to a home defeat at the hands of AS Mónaco at the Stade Auguste Delaune on Sunday. Reims were looking forward to playing again after losing 1-0 to Tolouse FC in their previous fixture. Monaco were coming from consecutive wins against Lyon and Nice. Reims and Monaco currently occupy 16th and 5th spots in the league, with 6 points and 14 points respectively after 8 matches.

Monaco didn’t take long to get on the score-sheet, when Aleksandr Golovin opened the rout just before half-time to see out the first half 1-0.

The Monégasques continued to apply pressure in the second period and were rewarded, when Takumi Minamino found the net in the 87th minute. However they weren’t finished yet and Wissam Ben Yedder made it 3-0 just before the final whistle to make it 3-0.

Substitutions for Reims included Ibrahim Diakite, Jens-Lys Cajuste, Nathanael Mbuku and Noah Jean Holm for Arber Zeneli, Maxime Busi, Dion Lopy and Ibrahim Diakite, respectively. Monaco brought on Vanderson, Mohamed Camara, Takumi Minamino and Gelson Martins for Ruben Aguilar, Eliot Matazo, Aleksandr Golovin and Maghnes Akliouche.
