RCSA 2 – Rennes 1: The Racers prevail in home win against The Rennais

RC Strasburg defeat Rennes 2-1 on Wednesday at the Stade de La Meinau. RCSA arrived with the intention of increasing their league score after a 1-1 draw against Troyes. Rennes had lost their previous match against AS Mónaco. As the table looks today, both teams are on 56 points and sit in 4th and 3rd places respectively after 33 matches.

The Racers started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with an early goal from Habib Diallo in the 4th minute. The score at half time was 1-0.

The Rennais started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, thanks to a goal from Martin Terrier in the 54th minute. RCSA managed to edge ahead with a goal from Ludovic Ajorque, at 77 minutes. The final result, RCSA 2, Rennes 1.

For RCSA, Anthony Caci, Sanjin Prcic, Kevin Gameiro, Jean-Eudes Aholou and Karol Fila, came on for Dimitri Lienard, Adrien Thomasson, Habib Diallo, Ibrahima Sissoko and Frederic Guilbert. Rennes replaced Flavien Tait, Gaetan Laborde, Martin Terrier and Baptiste Santamaria for Lovro Majer, Sehrou Guirassy, Loum Tchaouna and Mathys Tel.

There were bookings for Anthony Caci from RCSA, and Jonas Martin and Nayef Aguerd, for Rennes.

RCSA will next play Lille away, with Rennes facing FC Lorient at home.
