RCSA 1 – Cleermont 0: Visitors unable to get win at the Stade de La Meinau

RC Strasburg snatched all three points from Clermont Foot in a narrow 1-0 victory on Saturday, at the Stade de La Meinau. Both teams arrived in good form, having secured victories in their previous matches. RCSA were looking to pick up points after winning last match. Cleermont, on the other hand, had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 2-1 victory against Montpellier. As it stands, RCSA are in 5th place, with 63 points from 37 matches, while Cleermont sit in 16th, with 36 points from 37.

RCSA started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with a goal from Adrien Thomasson at the 28 minute mark, finishing the first half 1-0. The second part ended with little further action at either end and goalless.

For RCSA, Jean-Eudes Aholou, Anthony Caci, Ludovic Ajorque, Ibrahima Sissoko and Karol Fila, came on for Jeanricner Bellegarde, Dimitri Lienard, Habib Diallo, Adrien Thomasson and Frederic Guilbert. Cleermont brought on Jodel Dossou, Pierre-Yves Hamel, Yohann Magnin, Grejohn Kyei and Arial Mendy, to replace Jim Allevinah, Lucas Da Cunha, Oriol Busquets, Mohamed Bayo and Saif-Eddine Khaoui.

There were bookings for Dimitri Lienard from RCSA, and Akim Zedadka and Alidu Seidu, for Cleermont.

RCSA will next play Olympique de Marseille away, with Cleermont facing Lyon at home.
