RCSA 1 – Monaco 0: Home win for The Racers as they ease paste The Monégasques

RC Strasburg snatched all three points from AS Mónaco in a 1-0 victory on Sunday, at the Stade de La Meinau. RCSA were looking for a victory after a 1-1 draw against Reims. Monaco were able to continue their winning streak after a 1-0 win against Olympique de Marseille in their last match. Following today’s result, RCSA are currently 3rd with 47 points from 28 matches, while Monaco sit in 8th, with 41 points from 28.

RCSA started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with Alexander Djiku finding the net, 23 minutes in to see out the first half 1-0. The second half was uneventful with no goals and little action at either end.

For RCSA, Habib Diallo, Anthony Caci and Jean-Eudes Aholou, came on for Kevin Gameiro, Dimitri Lienard and Jeanricner Bellegarde. Monaco brought on Vanderson, Wissam Ben Yedder, Myron Boadu and Aleksandr Golovin, to replace Djibril Sidibe, Jean Lucas, Kevin Volland and Gelson Martins.

There were bookings for Sanjin Prcic from RCSA. For Monaco, Aurelien Tchouameni and Sofiane Diop saw yellow.

RCSA will next play FC Lorient away, with Monaco facing Paris Saint-Germain at home.
