Lens 1-0 Lyon: Blood and Gold extend unbeaten run with home win

RC Lens strolled past Lyon with a 1-0 win on Sunday at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis. Lens were aiming to improve their league standing after a scoreless draw against Nantes in their previous match. Lyon were beaten 1-0 in their previous match against Paris Saint-Germain. Lens are now in 4th place on the table and have 21 points while Lyon sit in 7th with 13 points after 9 matches.

After an uneventful first half, Lens piled on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, when Florian Sotoca found the net, 82 minutes in, seing the match finish 1-0.

Substitutions for Lens included Wesley Said, Alexis Claude-Maurice, Przemyslaw Frankowski, Adam Buksa and Jean Onana for Lois Openda, David Pereira Da Costa, Deiver Machado, Florian Sotoca and Seko Fofana, respectively. Lyon brought on Sael Kumbedi, Jeff Reine-Adelaide and Bradley Barcola, to replace Nicolas Tagliafico, Rayan Cherki and Alexandre Lacazette.

There were bookings for Florian Sotoca and Wesley Said from Lens. For Lyon, Nicolas Tagliafico and Jeff Reine-Adelaide saw yellow.

Lens will next play Lille away, with Lyon facing Tolouse FC at home.
