PSG 2 – Troyes 2: the Parc des Princes sees frustrating draw

On Sunday, PSG and Troyes were held to a 2-2 draw at the Parc des Princes. PSG arrived with the intention of increasing their league score following a disappointing 3-3 draw with RC Strasburg in their previous game. Troyes were looking to extend their winning run after a 3-0 victory against Lille. Following today’s result, PSG are in 1st place on the table and has 80 points while Troyes sit in 15th with 37 points after 36 matches.
Les Parisiens started strongly in the first half, with Marquinhos giving PSG the lead after only 6 minutes. PSG looked to have the game under control when they scored again and increased their lead, thanks to a goal from Neymar, 25 minutes in to establish a 2-0. Troyes in turn, then responded in the 30th minute increasing their lead with an effort from Ike Ugbo. The score at half time was 2-1.
Troyes started the second half with an intensified spirit, thanks to an early penalty goal from Florian Tardieu in the 49th minute, leaving the final score at 2-2.
Both teams used all available substitutes. For PSG, Idrissa Gueye, Georginio Wijnaldum and Ismael Gharbi, came on for Danilo Pereira, Marco Verratti and Angel Di Maria, Troyes brought on Yoann Salmier, Mama Balde and Tristan Dingome, to replace Yasser Larouci, Ike Ugbo and Romenique Kouame.
There were bookings for Neymar from PSG. For Troyes, Renaud Ripart and Romenique Kouame saw yellow.
PSG will next travel to Montpellier, while Troyes will face RC Lens at home.
