PSG 1-0 Marseille: The Phocaeans come up short as Neymar fires PSG to victory

Paris Saint-Germain banked all three points against the Olympique de Marseille in a narrow 1-0 victory on Sunday, at the Parc des Princes. PSG were on the hunt for more points after a scoreless draw against Reims in their previous match, while Marseille were beaten 2-1 in their previous match against AC Ajaccio. PSG and Marseille sit 1st, (29 points) and 4th, (23 points), in the league respectively, after 11 matches.

It was an impressive opening from PSG, when Neymar gave them the lead just before half-time The second part ended with little further action at either end and goalless.

Substitutions for PSG included Nordi Mukiele, Pablo Sarabia and Carlos Soler for Danilo Pereira, Lionel Messi and Neymar, respectively. Marseille replaced Samuel Gigot, Issa Kabore, Cengiz Under, Bamba Dieng and Pape Alassane Gueye with Eric Bailly, Nuno Tavares, Amine Harit, Alexis Sanchez and Jordan Veretout.

The referee booked Marquinhos for PSG and Samuel Gigot saw the red card, for Marseille.

PSG will next travel to AC Ajaccio, while Marseille will face RC Lens at home.
