Ligue 1 – Paris Saint-Germain – FC Lorient on Match-day 30

League Leaders PSG host Lorient at the Parc des Princes – Sunday – kick-off at 8:45pm GMT.
Leaders PSG are currently 15 places higher than their opponents Lorient, when the two sides meet, they will sit in first and sixteenth positions respectively.
Winning the Ligue 1 and securing a Champion’s League qualification is Paris Saint-Germain’s focus
This match sees PSG looking for a return to form, following a defeat in their last match against AS Mónaco.
Also, League leaders PSG keep finding ways to win, having secured 12 victories in their last 20 matches is astonishing this season. They are worthy of their place within the Champion’s League zone. They currently sit in first place, top of the League, having accrued 65 points so far this season. This means a record of 20 wins, 4 losses and 5 draws having won 20 meetings, drawn five fixtures, and lost four games.
Lorient will have to defy the odds when they travel to PSG, if they are to get anything out of the game. With PSG having won 13 fixtures and drawn one game this season at home, this is a huge ask.
The ultimate prize this season will be for Paris Saint-Germain to finish top of the Ligue 1 and secure automatic qualification for the Champion’s League. However, they must play each game as it comes and secure the points, if that is to be achieved.
Good atacking and defensive team
PSG have a solid defence, with only 27 goals conceded in their previous games. PSG will be pleased to have a good goal scoring record so far this season (59). Their stand out attacking players have been Kylian Mbappe (6), Danilo Pereira (4), and Marco Verratti (2).
It is likely that eight key players will miss Sunday’s fixture, which is something of a concern for Mauricio Pochettino and his PSG team.
FC Lorient’s Ligue 1 season, has so far seen them gain 28 points, going into this game
Whilst a disappointing 0-0 draw against RC Strasburg in their last game, is not the worst result they could have experienced, Lorient will be keen to improve the result in this fixture.
Also, Lorient need to find a way to generate wins on a consistent basis, as they’ve recorded 12 losses in their last 20 matches. With 28 points (6W, 13L and 10D), they are established in sixteenth position in the League having won six meetings, drawn 10 fixtures, and lost 13 games.
Lorient’s away record is remarkable and poses a significant threat to PSG. In the 15 games they’ve played on the road this season, they have so far won two fixtures, drawn five matches, and lost eight games.
A victory for FC Lorient would put them on 31 points.
Lorient’s squad has depth, but even so, Christophe Pelissier is likely to be missing four of they key players when they start Sunday’s game.

Other standout players for PSG are Kylian Mbappe and Danilo Pereira with six goals each and for Lorient are Sambou Soumano and Terem Moffi with three goals and two goals respectively.
