PSG 1-0 Brest: Narrow home win for Les Parisiens as Neymar strikes

Brest on away loss to PSG at the Parc des Princes on Saturday. PSG were keen to hang onto their position at the top of the table and extend their winning run after winning their previous two games in the competition. The most recent was against the Nantes away (3-0), the other to Tolouse FC away (3-0). Brest had managed to pick up a point in their matchup with RC Strasburg. PSG are now in 1st place, with 19 points from 7 matches, while Brest sit in 17th, with 5 points from 7.

It was an impressive opening from Les Parisiens, thanks to a goal from Neymar in the 30th minute to see out the first half 1-0. The second part ended with little further action at either end and goalless.

Substitutions for PSG included Fabian Ruiz, Pablo Sarabia, Hugo Ekitike, Nuno Mendes and Marquinhos for Marco Verratti, Kylian Mbappe, Neymar, Juan Bernat and Vitinha, respectively. Brest brought on Achraf Dari, Hugo Magnetti, Jere Uronen, Mathias Pereira Lage and Irvin Cardona, to replace Christophe Herelle, Mahdi Camara, Noah Fadiga, Pierre Lees-Melou and Haris Belkebla.

There were bookings for Neymar, Presnel Kimpembe, Danilo Pereira and Nuno Mendes from PSG. For Brest, Pierre Lees-Melou and Brendan Chardonnet saw yellow.

PSG will next play Lyon away, with Brest facing AC Ajaccio at home.
