Leaders PSG are currently 16 places higher than their rivals Brest, when the two sides meet, they will sit in first and seventeenth positions respectively.

League leaders Paris Saint-Germain will seek to win every game, this game is no exception

If PSG’s season is to maintain on track, they must put their recent poor form to an end in this game. In their last two outings, they lost 0-3 at Nantes and 0-3 at Tolouse FC.

Also, League leaders PSG keep finding ways to win, having secured five victories in their last six fixtures is astonishing this season, to sit within the reach of a Champion’s League place. They are the team to beat, with 16 points and sitting at the top of the table (current record: 5W – 0L and 1D) having won five meetings and drawn one game.

When PSG host Brest, they will do so on the back of one victory and one dart on their own ground.

Paris Saint-Germain will want to keep the pressure on their rivals as they sit at the top of the table, a win will take them to 19 points and keep their momentum going forward.

A solid defensive team

So far, PSG’s defence has been outstanding, as they have conceded four goals. PSG are currently one of the best goal scoring teams in the Ligue 1, having so far netted 24 (22 from open play and two penalties). This season, their stand-out attacking players have been Kylian Mbappe (7), Neymar (7), and Lionel Messi (3).

This season’s Ligue 1 campaign, has so far seen Brest achieve five points

Whilst a disappointing 1-1 draw against RC Strasburg in their last game, is not the worst result they could have experienced, Brest will be keen to improve the result in this fixture.

Also, league success is all about winning football matches, any way you can, so two losses in three meetings would not make this a successful season for Brest. Their position is seventeenth in the League and they have five points, that is, 1W, 3L and 2D having won one game, drawn two fixtures, and lost three meetings.

Playing away from home, Brest have won one game and lost two fixtures.

A win in this fixture would take Brest’s points to 8 in the League.

Injury and illness have depleted Michel Der Zakarian’s Brest and they will likely be missing three key personnel for Saturday’s match.
