Nice 1 – Rennes 1: The Eagles can only manage draw at home
Nice were held to 1-1 draw by Rennes down on Saturday at Allianz Rivera. Nice were hoping to get something from this game, following a previous defeat to Olympique de Marseille. Rennes were hoping to increase their winning streak after back-to-back victories against FC Metz and Lyon. As it stands, Nice are in 4th place on the table and has 51 points while Rennes sit in 2nd with 53 points after 30 matches.
After an un-eventful first half, Nice took the initiative in the second half, with Andy Delort giving The Eagles the lead in the 67th minute. In the end though, their celebrations were kept brief, as Martin Terrier equalised for The Rennais at the 78 minute mark and seeing the game end 1-1.
For Nice, Evann Guessand, Mario Lemina, Hicham Boudaoui and Calvin Stengs, came on for Kasper Dolberg, Kephren Thuram-Ulien, Andy Delort and Justin Kluivert. Rennes brought on Sehrou Guirassy, Birger Meling and Jonas Martin, to replace Flavien Tait, Adrien Truffert and Benjamin Bourigeaud.
There were bookings for Jean-Clair Todibo and Justin Kluivert from Nice. For Rennes, Hamari Traore saw yellow.
