Nice 1 – Nantes 1: Points shared with visitors at Allianz Rivera

On Sunday, Nice and Nantes played out a 1-1 draw at Allianz Rivera. Nice were on the hunt for more points following a disappointing 1-1 draw with Auxerre in their previous game. Nantes, meanwhile, were looking to extend their winning run after a 4-1 victory against Brest. Nice are now in 12th place on the table and have 13 points while Nantes sit in 15th with 11 points after 12 matches.

After an uneventful first half, Nantes certainly were out of the blocks quickly in the second half, with an early goal from Ignatius Kpene Ganago in the 49th minute. In the end though, their celebrations were kept brief, as Nicolas Pepe equalised for Nice just before the final whistle, to level the score at 1-1.

Substitutions for Nice included Youcef Atal, Hicham Boudaoui, Aaron Ramsey, Billal Brahimi and Melvin Bard for Jordan Lotomba, Mattia Viti, Kephren Thuram-Ulien, Ross Barkley and Joe Bryan, respectively. Nantes brought on Fabien Centtonze, Mostafa Mohamed, Jean-Charles Castelletto, Sebastien Corchia and Marcus Coco, to replace Dennis Appiah, Moses Simon, Ignatius Kpene Ganago, Moussa Sissoko and Ludovic Blas.

The referee booked Jean-Clair Todibo, Joe Bryan and Melvin Bard from Nice. Nantes had the worst of it though, with Moussa Sissoko, Alban Lafont and Samuel Moutoussamy seeing yellow, and Alban Lafont (2 yellow cards) and Abdoul Kader Bamba then sent off with a red.

Nice will play their next fixture away against FC Lorient, while Nantes will face Clermont Foot at home.
