Nice 1 – Lille 3: Les Dogues ease past The Eagles at Allianz Rivera
Lille beats Nice 3-1 on Saturday at Allianz Rivera. Nice were looking to pick up points after winning their previous two games against Saint-Étienne at home and Bordeaux away, by 4-2 and 1-0 respectively. Lille were beaten 2-1 in the previous match against AS Mónaco. After today’s result, Nice are in 6th place, with 63 points from 37 matches, while Lille sit in 10th, with 54 points from 37.
It was an impressive opening from The Eagles, with Justin Kluivert giving Nice the lead at the 31 minute mark, finishing the first half 1-0.
Les Dogues staged a comeback in the second half, thanks to Jonathan David finding the net at the 52 minute mark. The momentum was now with Lille, who then scored again through a second effort from Jonathan David at the 61 minute mark to establish a 2-1. However they weren’t finished yet and Tim Weah made it 3-1 just before the final whistle to make it 3-1.
For Nice, Flavius Daniliuc, Billal Brahimi, Kephren Thuram-Ulien, Morgan Schneiderlin and Evann Guessand, came on for Jordan Lotomba, Hicham Boudaoui, Mario Lemina, Pablo Rosario and Amine Gouiri. Lille brought on Jonathan Bamba, Domagoj Bradaric, Leny Yoro, Isaac Lihadji and Jeremy Pied, to replace Edon Zhegrova, Gabriel Gudmundsson, Angel Gomes, Burak Yilmaz and Jonathan David.
There were bookings for Jordan Lotomba and Justin Kluivert from Nice. For Lille, Gabriel Gudmundsson, Angel Gomes and Tim Weah saw yellow.
