Nantes 4-1 Brest: The Yellow House secure all 3 points at the Stade de la Beaujoire

Nantes eased past Brest in a 4-1 victory on Sunday at the Stade de la Beaujoire. Both teams came from defeats in their previous league games. Nantes were looking forward to playing again after losing 3-0 to Rennes in their last fixture while Brest were beaten 2-1 in their previous match against FC Lorient. Nantes are now in 14th place on the table and have 10 points while Brest sit in 20th with 6 points after 11 matches.

The Pirates didn’t take long to get on the score-sheet, when Noah Fadiga gave them the lead, at 18 minutes. However, their lead was short-lived, as an equalizer from Moses Simon on the 35 minute mark, brought The Yellow House level. However they weren’t finished yet and Ignatius Kpene Ganago made it 2-1, 36 minutes in, ending the first half 2-1.

Nantes once more applied the pressure in the second half and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Mostafa Mohamed in the 71st minute. Nantes then netted once more and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Moussa Sissoko just before the final whistle to make it 4-1.

Substitutions for Nantes included Moussa Sissoko, Evann Guessand, Jean-Charles Castelletto, Sebastien Corchia and Marcus Coco for Ignatius Kpene Ganago, Mostafa Mohamed, Dennis Appiah, Moses Simon and Pedro Chirivella, respectively. Brest brought on Karamoko Dembele, Irvin Cardona, Jeremy Le Douaron, Mahdi Camara and Hugo Magnetti, to replace Islam Slimani, Romain Del Castillo, Franck Honorat, Pierre Lees-Melou and Mathias Pereira Lage.

Brest and Nantes will next play away to Clermont Foot and Nice respectively.
