Lyon 5-0 Angers: The Kids blaze 5 past Le SCO

Lyon ease to a comfortable 5-0 win at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais. Lyon were looking to pick up points, following a 2-1 victory against Auxerre whilst Angers were beaten 4-2 in their previous match against Reims. Lyon are now in 3rd place on the table and have 13 points while Angers sit in 19th with 2 points after 6 matches.

The first half of the match started well for The Kids, when Karl Toko Ekambi opened the rout, 31 minutes in. However they weren’t finished yet and Alexandre Lacazette made it 2-0 on the 38 minute mark, to take a 2-0 lead into half time.

Lyon continued to pile on the pressure in the second period and were rewarded, when Karl Toko Ekambi found the net once more in the 59th minute. The momentum was again with Lyon, who then scored again courtesy of a goal from Castello Lukeba, 62 minutes in to establish a 4-0 result. However they weren’t finished yet and Moussa Dembele made it 5-0 just before the full time to make it 5-0.

Substitutions for Lyon included Moussa Dembele, Jeff Reine-Adelaide, Henrique Silva, Damien Da Silva and Bradley Barcola for Alexandre Lacazette, Tete, Malo Gusto, Thiago Mendes and Karl Toko Ekambi, respectively. Angers brought on Abdallah Sima, Amine Salama, Sada Thioub, Pierrick Capelle and Himad Abdelli, to replace Sofiane Boufal, Lois Diony, Yann Valery, Azzedine Ounahi and Adrien Hunou.

There were bookings for Malo Gusto and Tete from Lyon. For Angers, Sofiane Boufal saw yellow.

Lyon will next play AS Mónaco away, with Angers facing Montpellier at home.
