Lille 2-1 Tolouse: The Mastiffs take maximum points at home

On Saturday, Tolouse FC suffered an away defeat to Lille at the Stade Pierre Mauroy. Lille were looking forward to playing again after losing 2-1 to Olympique de Marseille in their last match. Tolouse had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 1-0 victory against Reims. Lille and Tolouse currently occupy 6th and 12th spots in the table, with 13 points and 8 points respectively after 8 matches.

Lille started the match strongly, with an early goal from Jonathan David in the 5th minute to see out the first half 1-0.

Tolouse started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, with an early goal from Fares Chaibi in the 48th minute. Les Dogues in turn, then responded on the 53 minute mark, grabbing the lead with an effort from Adam Ounas. The match ended with a 2-1 home victory.

Lille brought on Jonas Martin, Alan Virginius and Mohamed Bayo for Angel Gomes, Adam Ounas and Jonathan David. Tolouse brought on Veljko Birmancevic, Ado Onaiwu and Kevin Keben Biakolo, to replace Issiaga Sylla, Thijs Dallinga and Mikkel Desler.

The referee booked Jose Fonte and Bafode Diakite for Lille.

Lille will play away against FC Lorient, while Tolouse will face Montpellier at home.
