Lille 1-1 Rennes: Les Dogues held at the Stade Pierre Mauroy by The Rennais

On Sunday, Lille and Rennes played out a 1-1 draw at the Stade Pierre Mauroy. Lille were looking to get back to winning ways after losing their last match 1-0 to Lyon. Rennes were hoping to continue their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Montpellier and Angers SCO. Lille are now in 7th place, with 23 points from 14 matches, while Rennes sit in 3rd, with 28 points from 14.

Lille started the first half well, when Jose Fonte found the net, at 16 minutes, concluding the first half 1-0.

Rennes took the lead in the second half, thanks to a goal from Benjamin Bourigeaud, at 58 minutes, seing the match finish 1-1.

Substitutions for Lille included Adam Ounas, Alan Virginius and Carlos Baleba for Andre Gomes, Jonathan Bamba and Angel Gomes, respectively. Rennes brought on Lovro Majer and Birger Meling, to replace Flavien Tait and Arnaud Kalimuendo.

The referee booked Tiago Djalo, Jonathan Bamba, Bafode Diakite and Carlos Baleba from Lille. Rennes had the worst of it though, with Christopher Wooh seeing yellow, and Birger Meling then sent off with a red.

Rennes and Lille will next play at home to Tolouse FC and Angers SCO respectively.
