Lille 1-7 PSG: Les Dogues humbled at home as Mbappe nets a hattrick for PSG

Paris Saint-Germain’s 7-1 win over Lille on Sunday, was hard fought at the Stade Pierre Mauroy. Lille wanted to improve their league standing after a 1-1 draw against Nantes while PSG were hoping to increase their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Montpellier and Clermont Foot. After today’s result, Lille and PSG sit 12th, (4 points) and 1st, (9 points), spots respectively, after 3 matches.

Les Parisiens started the match well, with an early goal from Kylian Mbappe in the 1st minute. PSG looked to have the match under control when they scored again and increased their lead, thanks to a goal from Lionel Messi at the 28 minute mark to establish a 2-0. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a hat trick effort from Kylian Mbappe just before the final whistle with a final score of 7-1.

Substitutions for Lille included Edon Zhegrova, Alan Virginius, Jonas Martin and Tiago Djalo for Yusuf Yazici, Gabriel Gudmundsson, Benjamin Andre and Alexsandro Ribeiro, repectively. PSG brought on Renato Sanches, Juan Bernat, Danilo Pereira, Nordi Mukiele and Leandro Paredes for Marco Verratti, Nuno Mendes, Sergio Ramos, Achraf Hakimi and Vitinha.

There were bookings for Benjamin Andre and Jonathan David from Lille. For PSG, Sergio Ramos saw yellow.

Lille will next play AC Ajaccio away, with PSG facing AS Mónaco at home.
