Metz 1 – Angers 0: Points secure for The Maroons at the Stade Saint Symphorien

Metz enjoyed a mesmerising home victory against Angers SCO at the Stade Saint Symphorien on Saturday. Both sides arrived at the challenge after previous wins. Metz were keen to hang onto their position at the top of league and extend their winning run, following a 3-2 victory against Lyon. Angers, on the other hand, were able to continue their winning streak after a 4-1 win against Bordeaux in their last match. As it stands, Metz and Angers are 18th, (31 points) and 14th, (38 points), in the table respectively, after 37 matches.
After an un-eventful first half, The Maroons certainly were out of the blocks quickly in the second half, thanks to an early goal from Didier Lamkel Ze in the 50th minute. The game ended with a 1-0 win for Metz.
For Metz, Thomas Delaine, Jean-Armel Kana-Biyik and Louis Mafouta, came on for William Mikelbrencis, Sikou Niakate and Nicolas De Preville. Angers brought on Abdoulaye Bamba, Thomas Mangani, Azzedine Ounahi, Marin Jakolis and Casimir Ninga for Romain Thomas, Batista Mendy, Angelo Fulgini, Mohamed-Ali Cho and Stephane Bahoken.
There were bookings for Fali Cande, Boubacar Traore and Thomas Delaine from Metz, and Nabil Bentaleb, for Angers.
Metz will play their next fixture away against Paris Saint-Germain, while Angers will face Montpellier at home.
