Lorient 2-1 Clermont 1: The Lancers come up short at Lorient

Clermont Foot on away loss to Lorient at the Stade Yves Allainmat on Sunday. Lorient wanted to continue adding points following a disappointing 2-2 draw with Tolouse FC in their previous game whilst Cleermont were hoping to increase their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Nice and Reims. As the table looks today, Lorient are currently 4th with 7 points from 4 matches, while Cleermont sit in 9th, with 6 points from 4.

Lorient started strongly in the first half, when Terem Moffi found the net, at 24 minutes. However they weren’t finished yet and Terem Moffi made it 2-0 just before halftime to see out the first half 2-0.

Cleermont took the initiative in the second half, with a goal from Muhammed-Cham Saracevic, 62 minutes in. When the final wisthle blew, the result was 2-1 to Lorient.

Substitutions for Lorient included Theo Le Bris, Ibrahima Kone, Bonke Innocent and Stephane Diarra for Julien Ponceau, Terem Moffi, Enzo Le Fee and Armand Lauriente, repectively. Cleermont brought on Arial Mendy, Jeremie Bela, Jean-Claude Billong, Yohann Magnin and Grejohn Kyei for Saif-Eddine Khaoui, Alidu Seidu, Maxime Gonalons, Komnen Andric and Jim Allevinah.

The referee booked Gedeon Kalulu from Lorient. Cleermont had the worst of it though, with Neto Borges and Maxime Gonalons seeing yellow, and Neto Borges (2 yellow cards) then sent off with a red.

Cleermont and Lorient will next play away to Olympique de Marseille and RC Lens respectively.
