Clermont 1-2 Lyon: The Kids end their campaign with good win at the Stade Gabriel Montpied

Lyon secures a 2-1 win against Clermont Foot at Stade Gabriel Montpied on Saturday. Cleermont arrived at the game looking pick up points after losing 1-0 to RC Strasburg in their previous fixture. Lyon were coming off the back of a 3-2 win against Nantes. This left, Cleermont and Lyon are 17th (36 points) and 8th (61 points) in the table respectively, after a total of 38 matches.

The Kids started the game well, thanks to Moussa Dembele giving Lyon the lead in the 26th minute, finalising the first half 0-1.

Lyon started the second half with an intensified spirit, with an early goal from Houssem Aouar in the 49th minute. Cleermont in turn, then responded, 59 minutes in increasing their lead with an effort from Mohamed Bayo and seeing the game end 2-1.

For Cleermont, Jim Allevinah, Oriol Busquets, Elbasan Rashani, Arial Mendy and Pierre-Yves Hamel, came on for Jodel Dossou, Saif-Eddine Khaoui, Lucas Da Cunha, Vital N’Simba and Mohamed Bayo. Lyon brought on Tanguy Ndombele, Karl Toko Ekambi, Emerson and Romain Faivre, to replace Jeff Reine-Adelaide, Bradley Barcola, Henrique Silva and Houssem Aouar.

There were bookings for Vital N’Simba and Elbasan Rashani from Cleermont. For Lyon, Henrique Silva and Moussa Dembele saw yellow.
