Brest 2-4 Bordeaux: Relegated Les Girondins produce a big away win

Bordeaux earn hard-fought win over Brest 4-2 on Saturday at the Stade Francis-Le Blé. Brest were hoping to get something from this game, following a previous defeat to AS Mónaco. Bordeaux are struggling for form following a draw in their last match. Following the final whistle at the end of the last game of the Ligue 1 season, Brest are in 11th place on the table and has 48 points while Bordeaux sit in 20th with 31 points after 38 matches.

Les Girondins started the game well, thanks to a goal from Ricardo Mangas at the 14 minute mark. However, they were unable to maintain their lead, Steve Mounie managed to equalize and take the sides off, 16 minutes in at 1-1. However, each side looked hungry to win and Bordeaux then found the back of the net, at 32 minutes thanks to Sekou Mara, taking the score to 2-1. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Youcef Belaili equalised for The Pirates, 34 minutes in, finishing the first half 2-2.

Les Girondins continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Sekou Mara finding the net again, 73 minutes in. Bordeaux then netted once more and increased their advantage thanks to a goal from Javairo Dilrosun at the 75 minute mark to make it 4-2.

For Brest, Ronael Pierre-Gabriel, Rafiki Said, Hugo Magnetti, Jeremy Le Douaron and Jere Uronen, came on for Jean-Kevin Duverne, Romain Del Castillo, Paul Lasne, Irvin Cardona and Christophe Herelle. Bordeaux brought on Jimmy Briand, Johaneko Louis-Jean, Dilane Bakwa, Paul Baysse and Remi Oudin, to replace Sekou Mara, Enock Kwateng, Hwang Ui-Jo, Marcelo and Javairo Dilrosun.

The referee booked Brendan Chardonnet for Brest.
