Bordeaux 2 – ASSE 2: Points shared at the Matmut Atlantique Stadiums after draw

Bordeaux were held to 2-2 draw by ASSE down on Wednesday at the Matmut Atlantique Stadiums. Bordeaux were looking to get back their winning ways after losing 6-1 to Lyon in their previous fixture. ASSE were able to continue their winning streak after a 2-1 win against Brest in their last match. As the table looks today, Bordeaux and ASSE currently occupy 19th and 17th spots in the league, with 27 points and 31 points respectively after 33 matches.

Bordeaux started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, thanks to Sekou Mara giving Bordeaux the lead, at 16 minutes. Les Girondins looked to have the game under control when they scored again and increased their lead, thanks to a goal from Jean Onana after 23 minutes to establish a 2-0. ASSE in turn, then responded, at 33 minutes increasing their lead with an effort from Denis Bouanga, which saw the first half end 2-1.

Saints took the initiative in the second half, with Arnaud Nordin finding the net, 65 minutes in. The game ended wih a 2-2 draw.

For Bordeaux, Yacine Adli, Remi Oudin, Enock Kwateng, Thibault Klidje and Jimmy Briand, came on for Sekou Mara, Tom Lacoux, Stian Gregersen, Javairo Dilrosun and Jean Onana. ASSE brought on Sada Thioub, Harold Moukoudi, Wahbi Khazri, Yvan Neyou and Adil Aouchiche, to replace Miguel Trauco, Abdoulaye Bakayoko, Gabriel Silva, Ryad Boudebouz and Lucas Gourna-Douath.

There were bookings for Jean Onana, Danylo Ignatenko, Stian Gregersen, Anel Ahmedhodzic and Tom Lacoux from Bordeaux, and Lucas Gourna-Douath, Arnaud Nordin, Wahbi Khazri, Denis Bouanga, Mahdi Camara and Yvan Neyou, for ASSE.

Bordeaux will next travel to Nantes, while ASSE will face AS Mónaco at home.
