Bordeaux 0 – Montpellier 2: La Paillade, fearless, go to the Matmut Atlantique Stadiums and win

Montpellier’s 2-0 win over Bordeaux on Sunday, was hard fought at the Matmut Atlantique Stadiums. Bordeaux were looking forward to meeting again after losing their last game 3-0 to Paris Saint-Germain. Montpellier were unable to beat Nice in a 0-0 draw. As it stands, Bordeaux and Montpellier sit 20th, (22 points) and 11th, (38 points), in the league respectively, after 29 matches.

Montpellier started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with Sepe Elye Wahi giving La Paillade the lead in the 11th minute. However they weren’t finished yet and Florent Mollet made it 2-0, 16 minutes in, to take a 0-2 lead into half time. Both teams struggled to produce anything meaningful in the second half, leaving the final score at 2-0.

For Bordeaux, Thibault Klidje, Yacine Adli, Mbaye Niang, Javairo Dilrosun and Ricardo Mangas, came on for Fransergio, Marcelo, Sekou Mara, Josuha Guilavogui and Gideon Mensah. Montpellier brought on Thuler, Ambroise Oyongo, Stephy Mavididi, Leo Leroy and Junior Sambia, to replace Valere Germain, Sepe Elye Wahi, Teji Savanier, Jordan Ferri and Florent Mollet.

The referee booked Gideon Mensah, Anel Ahmedhodzic and Fransergio for Bordeaux and Nicolas Cozza and Mihailo Ristic saw the red card, for Montpellier.

Bordeaux will next travel to Lille, while Montpellier will face Brest at home.
