On Saturday, Monaco and Rennes were held to a 1-1 draw at the Stade Louis II. Monaco were keen to hang onto their position at the top of league and extend their winning run after winning last match. Rennes had lost their previous match against FC Lorient. As the table looks today, Monaco are currently 2nd with 4 points from 2 matches, while Rennes sit in 13th, with 1 point from 2.

After an uneventful first half, Rennes took the initiative in the second half, when Gaetan Laborde gave The Rennais the lead at the 59 minute mark. In the end though, their lead was short lived, as Breel Embolo equalised for Monaco in the 72nd minute. The final result, Monaco 1, Rennes 1.

Substitutions for Monaco included Soungoutou Magassa, Ismail Jakobs, Gelson Martins and Benoit Badiashile for Wissam Ben Yedder, Aleksandr Golovin, Krepin Diatta and Vanderson, repectively.
