Monaco 1 – Nice 0: The Monégasques seal precious win at the Stade Louis II

AS Mónaco strolled past Nice with a 1-0 win on Wednesday at the Stade Louis II. Both teams arrived on the back of wins. Monaco were looking to pick up points after winning their previous two games against Rennes away and Troyes at home, by 3-2 and 2-1 respectively. Nice had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 2-1 victory against FC Lorient. As the table looks today, Monaco are in 4th place on the table and has 56 points while Nice sit in 5th with 54 points after 33 matches.
Monaco started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with Aleksandr Golovin giving The Monégasques the lead just before half-time With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the game ended 1-0.
For Monaco, Gelson Martins, Myron Boadu and Ismail Jakobs, came on for Ruben Aguilar, Wissam Ben Yedder and Aleksandr Golovin. Nice replaced Justin Kluivert, Pablo Rosario, Amine Gouiri and Jordan Amavi with Hicham Boudaoui, Mario Lemina, Billal Brahimi and Melvin Bard.
There were bookings for Aurelien Tchouameni, Axel Disasi, Gelson Martins, Aleksandr Golovin and Vanderson from Monaco, and Flavius Daniliuc and Kephren Thuram-Ulien, for Nice.
Monaco will next play Saint-Étienne away, with Nice facing Troyes at home.
