Reims banked all three points against the Angers SCO in a 4-2 victory on Wednesday, at the Stade Raymond Kopa. Angers were hoping to get something from this game after losing 3-1 to Troyes in their last match. Reims were unable to beat Lyon in a 1-1 draw. Angers and Reims sit 19th, (2 points) and 13th, (5 points), in the league respectively, after 5 matches.

The Red and Whites started the first half well, when Marshall Munetsi gave them the lead, at 23 minutes. However they weren’t finished yet and Junya Ito made it 2-0 just before half-time to see out the first half 2-0.

Angers took the initiative in the second half, when Sofiane Boufal found the net in the 59th minute. Le SCO looked to have the match under control when they scored again and increased their lead, thanks to a goal from Adrien Hunou, at 67 minutes to establish a 2-2. However, each side looked hungry to win and Reims then found the back of the net, 70 minutes in thanks to Folarin Balogun, taking the score to 3-2. However they weren’t finished yet and Alexis Flips made it 4-2 just before the final whistle to make it 4-2.

Substitutions for Angers included Sada Thioub, Sofiane Boufal, Abdallah Sima, Lois Diony and Himad Abdelli for Waniss Taibi, Halid Sabanovic, Amine Salama, Cedric Hountondji and Adrien Hunou, respectively. Reims brought on Folarin Balogun, Martin Adeline and Alexis Flips, to replace Arber Zeneli, Kamory Doumbia and Junya Ito.

The referee booked Sada Thioub from Angers. Reims had the worst of it though, with Marshall Munetsi, Maxime Busi, Jens-Lys Cajuste, Martin Adeline and Patrick Pentz seeing yellow, and Jens-Lys Cajuste (2 yellow cards) then sent off with a red.
