Angers 1-3 Brest: Le Douaron fires The Pirates to good win against Le SCO

Brest snatched all three points from Angers SCO in a 3-1 victory on Sunday, at the Stade Raymond Kopa. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were keen to pick up points. Angers wanted to continue adding points following a disappointing 2-2 draw with Auxerre in their previous game. Brest, on the other hand, had managed to pick up a single point in their matchup with Olympique de Marseille. As it stands, Angers and Brest are 16th, (2 points) and 8th, (4 points), in the league respectively, after 3 matches.

The Pirates started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with a goal from Jeremy Le Douaron in the 10th minute. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a 2nd effort from Jeremy Le Douaron at the 38 minute mark, ending the first half 2-0.

Brest continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Achraf Dari, 65 minutes in. Angers in turn, then responded, 70 minutes in increasing their lead with an effort from Sofiane Boufal. When the final wisthle blew, the result was 3-1 to Brest.

Substitutions for Angers included Abdoulaye Bamba, Sofiane Boufal, Waniss Taibi, Amine Salama and Antonin Bobichon for Adrien Hunou, Pierrick Capelle, Sada Thioub, Lois Diony and Azzedine Ounahi, repectively. Brest brought on Franck Honorat, Irvin Cardona, Karamoko Dembele and Hianga’a Mbock, to replace Youcef Belaili, Jeremy Le Douaron, Mathias Pereira Lage and Hugo Magnetti.

The referee booked Sada Thioub and Lois Diony and Halid Sabanovic saw the red card, for Angers.

Angers will play away against Troyes, while Brest will face Montpellier at home.
