Ajaccio 1-3 Clermont: Visitors secure points with win at Stade Francois Coty

Clermont Foot banked all three points against the AC Ajaccio in a 3-1 victory on Sunday, at Stade Francois Coty. Ajaccio were keen to hang onto their position at the top of the table and extend their winning run after winning last match, while Cleermont were beaten 3-1 in their previous match against Troyes. Ajaccio and Cleermont are 20th, (4 points) and 9th, (13 points), in the league respectively, after 9 matches.

The first half of the match started favourably for Cleermont, when Grejohn Kyei found the net, at 11 minutes, ending the first half 1-0.

L’ours took the initiative in the second half, with a goal from Cedric Avinel in the 70th minute. However, each side looked hungry to win and Cleermont then found the back of the net, at 89 minutes thanks to Elbasan Rashani, taking the score to 2-1. Cleermont then scored once more and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Jodel Dossou just before the full time to give a final score of 3-1.

Substitutions for Ajaccio included Riad Nouri, Thomas Mangani, Bevic Moussiti-Oko, Mohamed Youssouf and Cyrille Bayala for Kevin Spadanuda, Vincent Marchetti, Yoann Touzghar, Mickael Alphonse and Yanis Cimignani, respectively. Cleermont brought on Elbasan Rashani, Saif-Eddine Khaoui, Mehdi Zeffane, Jodel Dossou and Brandon Baiye, to replace Grejohn Kyei, Muhammed-Cham Saracevic, Johan Gastien, Komnen Andric and Maxime Gonalons.

There were bookings for Mickael Alphonse, Cyrille Bayala and Ismael Diallo from Ajaccio. For Cleermont, Johan Gastien, Mehdi Zeffane and Maximiliano Caufriez saw yellow.

Ajaccio will next travel to Olympique de Marseille, while Cleermont will face Auxerre at home.
