Venezia 1 – Udinese 2: Bianconeri, fearless, go to Stadio Pierluigi Penzo and win

Udinese’s 2-1 win over Venezia on Sunday, was hard fought at Stadio Pierluigi Penzo. Venezia were looking to get back their winning ways after losing their last game 1-0 to Spezia Calcio. Udinese were able to continue their winning streak after a 5-1 win against Cagliari in their last match. As it stands, Venezia and Udinese are 19th, (22 points) and 12th, (36 points), in the table respectively, after 32 matches.

Bianconeri started strongly in the first half, thanks to a goal from Gerard Deulofeu in the 35th minute and the first half ended 0-1.

Arancioneroverdi took the lead in the second half, with a goal from Thomas Henry at the 86 minute mark. Udinese managed to edge ahead with a goal from Rodrigo Becao just before the final whistle and seeing the game end 2-1.

For Venezia, Mattia Aramu, Antonio Vacca, Sofian Kiyine, David Okereke and Nani, came on for Mickael Cuisance, Gianluca Busio, Tyronne Ebuehi, Dennis Johnsen and Domen Crnigoj. Udinese brought on Isaac Success, Lazar Samardzic, Marvin Zeegelaar, Mato Jajalo and Brandon Soppy, to replace Gerard Deulofeu, Tolgay Arslan, Iyenoma Destiny Udogie, Jean-Victor Makengo and Nahuel Molina.

There were bookings for Gianluca Busio, Mickael Cuisance, Ridgeciano Haps, Thomas Henry, Pietro Ceccaroni, Ethan Ampadu and Nani from Venezia. For Udinese, Tolgay Arslan and Iyenoma Destiny Udogie saw yellow.

Venezia will next play Fiorentina away, with Udinese facing Empoli at home.
