Torino 2 – Spezia 1: The Bull celebrate victory at home

Torino beat Spezia Calcio with a thumping 2-1 victory on Saturday at the Stadio Olimpico di Torino. Torino were looking for a victory after a 1-1 draw against Lazio. Spezia, on the other hand, were beaten 3-1 in the previous match against Internazionale. Following today’s result, Torino are currently 11th with 40 points from 34 matches, while Spezia sit in 15th, with 33 points from 34.

It was an impressive opening from Torino, with an early penalty goal from Sasa Lukic in the 4th minute, finalising the first half 1-0.

The Bull continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to Sasa Lukic finding the net again at the 69 minute mark. In the end though, Spezia just before the final whistle hit back though thanks to a Rey Manaj goal, leaving the final score at 2-1.

For Torino, Alessandro Buongiorno, Dennis Praet, Josip Brekalo, Koffi Djidji and Cristian Ansaldi, came on for Ricardo Rodriguez, Demba Seck, Marko Pjaca, Bremer and Wilfried Stephane Singo. Spezia brought on Janis Antiste and David Strelec, to replace Martin Erlic and Salva Ferrer.

There were bookings for Bremer from Torino, and Martin Erlic and Dimitrios Nikolaou, for Spezia.

Torino will next play Empoli away, with Spezia facing Lazio at home.
