Spezia 0 – Roma 1: Giallorossi net 1 without reply at the Stadio Alberto Picco

Spezia Calcio fell to a home defeat at the hands of Roma at the Stadio Alberto Picco on Sunday. Spezia were looking forward to meeting again after losing 2-1 to Bologna in their last match whilst Roma secured a point against Hellas Verona in their previous match. After today’s result, Spezia are in 16th place on the table and has 26 points while Roma sit in 8th with 41 points after 27 matches.

After a goalless first half, Roma continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to Tammy Abraham giving Giallorossi the lead just before the final whistle. They managed to see the game out with a clean sheet and a final score of 1-0.

For Spezia, Giulio Maggiore, Salva Ferrer and Emmanuel Gyasi, came on for Jacopo Sala, Daniele Verde and Simone Bastoni. Roma brought on Nicolo Zaniolo, Stephan El Shaarawy, Eldor Shomurodov and Edoardo Bove, to replace Gianluca Mancini, Jordan Veretout, Nicola Zalewski and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

The referee booked Kevin Agudelo, Kelvin Amian, Jakub Kiwior and Giulio Maggiore from Spezia and Kelvin Amian (2 yellow cards) went off with a red card, while Roma’s Gianluca Mancini, Marash Kumbulla and Nicolo Zaniolo also received a yellow.

Spezia will next travel to Juventus, while Roma will face Atalanta at home.
