Spezia 3 – Lazio 4: Visitors ecstatic after win at the Stadio Alberto Picco

Lazio snatched all three points from Spezia Calcio in a 4-3 victory on Saturday, at the Stadio Alberto Picco. Both Spezia and Lazio arrived at the match from previous defeats in the league. Spezia were looking to get back their winning ways, following a previous defeat to Torino. Lazio lost 2-1 in the last match they played against AC Milan. After today’s result, Spezia and Lazio currently occupy 16th and 5th spots in the league, with 33 points and 59 points respectively after 35 matches.

Spezia started the first half well, thanks to a goal from Kelvin Amian, 9 minutes in. However, the good fortune didn’t last for long. An equalizer from Ciro Immobile at the 33 minute mark brought Lazio level. However, Spezia, 35 minutes in reestablished their lead via a Kevin Agudelo goal, to take a 2-1 lead into half time.

The White and Sky Blues started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, with a goal from Ivan Provedel in the 54th minute. However, each side looked hungry to win and Spezia then found the back of the net, 56 minutes in thanks to Petko Hristov, taking the score to 3-2. However, their lead didn’t last for long, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic producing an equaliser, 68 minutes in, bringing Lazio level. However they weren’t finished yet and Francesco Acerbi made it 4-3 just before the final whistle to make it 4-3.

For Spezia, Janis Antiste, Simone Bastoni, Viktor Kovalenko and Eddie Salcedo, came on for Daniele Verde, Giulio Maggiore, Kevin Agudelo and Rey Manaj. Lazio brought on Luis Alberto, Luiz Felipe, Luka Romero and Lucas Leiva, to replace Toma Basic, Patric, Danilo Cataldi and Felipe Anderson.

There were bookings for Rey Manaj, Kelvin Amian and Viktor Kovalenko from Spezia, and Mattia Zaccagni, for Lazio.

Spezia next face Atalanta and Lazio are at home to Sampdoria.
