Spezia 2 – Cagliari 0: Visitors leave the Stadio Alberto Picco empty handed

On Saturday, Cagliari suffer an away defeat to Spezia Calcio at the Stadio Alberto Picco. Both sides arrived at the match from previous defeats in the league. Spezia were hoping to get something from this game after losing 1-0 to Juventus in their previous fixture. Cagliari lost 3-0 in the last match they played against Lazio. As it stands, Spezia are in 15th place on the table and has 29 points while Cagliari sit in 17th with 25 points after 29 matches.

After an un-eventful first half, Spezia certainly were out of the blocks quickly in the second half, thanks to Martin Erlic giving Spezia the lead at the 55 minute mark. However they weren’t finished yet and Rey Manaj made it 2-0, 74 minutes in to make it 2-0.

For Spezia, Rey Manaj, Viktor Kovalenko, Petko Hristov and Salva Ferrer, came on for Daniele Verde, Kevin Agudelo, Simone Bastoni and Emmanuel Gyasi. Cagliari brought on Gabriele Zappa, Razvan Marin, Gaston Pereiro and Keita Balde, to replace Dalbert, Daniele Baselli, Alessandro Deiola and Matteo Lovato.

There were bookings for Rey Manaj from Spezia, and Leonardo Pavoletti, Joao Pedro, Edoardo Goldaniga and Gabriele Zappa, for Cagliari.

Spezia will next play Sassuolo away, with Cagliari facing AC Milan at home.
