Good Attacking Performance

Sassuolo will be pleased to have a good goal scoring record so far this season (51). This is largely down to the efforts of their stand-out attackers – Gianluca Scamacca (4), Giacomo Raspadori (3), and Hamed Junior Traoré (3). Sassuolo have shown a poor defensive performance so far, having conceded 48 goals in their previous games.

Going into Friday’s game, Alessio Dionisi without five of his players, due to illness or injury.

It was three points secured for Spezia in their last fixture, beating Cagliari 2-0 at the Stadio Alberto Picco.

Also, Spezia have now lost four of their last five fixtures, a worrying statistic that has to be addressed by Manager Thiago Motta. With 29 points, they currently sit fifteenth in the League. The breakdown for the team’s record is 8 wins, 16 losses and 5 draws having won eight meetings, drawn five fixtures, and lost 16 games.

Spezia’s away record is remarkable and poses a significant threat to Sassuolo. In the 15 games they’ve played on the road this season, they have so far won four games, drawn two fixtures, and lost nine meetings.

A win in this fixture would take Spezia Calcio’s points to 32 in the League.

Spezia’s squad has depth, but even so, Thiago Motta is likely to be missing two of they key players when they start Friday’s game.
