Sampdoria 0 – Roma 1: The Blue-circled suffer home loss to Giallorossi

Sampdoria on Sunday lost to Roma on a home defeat at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris. Both teams arrived on the back of wins. Sampdoria were looking to pick up points after winning last match. Roma were looking to extend their winning run after a 3-0 victory against Lazio. As it stands, Sampdoria and Roma currently occupy 16th and 5th spots in the league, with 29 points and 54 points respectively after 31 matches.

Giallorossi started well, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan finding the net, 27 minutes in, finishing the first half 0-1. Both teams struggled to produce anything meaningful in the second half, leaving the final score at 1-0.

For Sampdoria, Fabio Quagliarella, Tommaso Augello, Ronaldo Vieira, Simone Trimboli and Maya Yoshida, came on for Stefano Sensi, Nicola Murru, Tomas Rincon, Morten Thorsby and Alex Ferrari. Roma brought on Eldor Shomurodov, Matias Vina, Edoardo Bove and Marash Kumbulla, to replace Tammy Abraham, Nicola Zalewski, Lorenzo Pellegrini and Sergio Oliveira.

There were bookings for Bartosz Bereszynski and Abdelhamid Sabiri from Sampdoria, and Roger Ibanez, Sergio Oliveira and Lorenzo Pellegrini, for Roma.

Sampdoria will next travel to Bologna, while Roma will face Salernitana at home.
