Salernitana 1 – Cagliari 1: granate unable to break dead-lock with The Islanders

On Sunday, Salernitana and Cagliari were held to a 1-1 draw at Stadio Arechi. Salernitana arrived with the intention of increasing their league score after a 1-1 draw against Atalanta. Cagliari, on the other hand, had lost their previous match against Hellas Verona. As the table looks today, Salernitana are in 17th place on the table and has 30 points while Cagliari sit in 18th with 29 points after 36 matches.
After an un-eventful first half, Salernitana took the initiative in the second half, thanks to Simone Verdi finding the net at the 68 minute mark. In the end though, their lead was short lived, as Giorgio Altare equalised for Cagliari just before the final whistle, leaving the final score at 1-1.
For Salernitana, Grigoris Kastanos, Nadir Zortea, Federico Bonazzoli and Diego Perotti, came on for Emil Bohinen, Matteo Ruggeri, Milan Djuric and Simone Verdi. Cagliari brought on Razvan Marin, Gaston Pereiro, Keita Balde and Daniele Baselli, to replace Marko Rog, Alessandro Deiola, Leonardo Pavoletti and Luca Ceppitelli.
The referee booked eight players. Emil Bohinen, Nadir Zortea, Ivan Radovanovic, Diego Perotti and Norbert Gyomber from Salernitana, who saw yellow cards and Franck Ribery, sent off with a red, as well as for Cagliari Leonardo Pavoletti and Alessio Cragno also seeing yellows.
Salernitana will next play Empoli away, with Cagliari facing Internazionale at home.
