Roma 0-1 Atalanta: The Goddess take superb three points at the Stadio Olympico

Roma on Sunday lost to Atalanta on a home defeat at the Stadio Olympico. Roma were looking to continue their good run, following a 2-1 victory against Empoli. Atalanta had secured a point against Cremonese in their previous match. Roma and Atalanta currently occupy 6th and 1st spots in the table, with 13 points and 17 points respectively after 7 matches.

It was an impressive opening from Atalanta, when Giorgio Scalvini found the net, at 35 minutes, ending the first half 1-0. Both teams struggled to produce anything meaningful in the second half, leaving the final score at 1-0.

Substitutions for Roma included Andrea Belotti, Eldor Shomurodov and Nicola Zalewski for Nemanja Matic, Tammy Abraham and Gianluca Mancini, respectively. Atalanta brought on Marco Sportiello, Luis Muriel, Caleb Okoli, Ademola Lookman and Ruslan Malinovskyi, to replace Juan Musso, Rasmus Hojlund, Giorgio Scalvini, Mario Pasalic and Ederson.

The referee booked seven players from Atalanta, Joakim Maehle, Rafael Toloi, Hans Hateboer, Merih Demiral, Marten De Roon, Teun Koopmeiners and Ruslan Malinovskyi.

Roma will play away against Internazionale, while Atalanta will face Fiorentina at home.
