Napoli 2 – Udinese 1: Visitors leave Stadio Diego Armando Maradona with nothing

Udinese fell to an away defeat at the hands of Napoli at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on Saturday. Napoli were keen to hang onto their position at the top of league and extend their winning run, following a 2-1 victory against Hellas Verona. Udinese, on the other hand, were unable to beat Roma in a 1-1 draw. As the table looks today, Napoli and Udinese currently occupy 1st and 14th spots in the table, with 63 points and 30 points respectively after 30 matches.
Bianconeri started well, thanks to Gerard Deulofeu giving Udinese the lead at the 22 minute mark and managed to see out the first half 0-1.
Napoli started the second half with renewed vigour, with Victor Osimhen finding the net in the 52nd minute. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a 2nd effort from Victor Osimhen, at 63 minutes with a final score of 2-1.
For Napoli, Dries Mertens, Piotr Zielinski, Alessandro Zanoli and Eljif Elmas, came on for Fabian Ruiz, Matteo Politano, Giovanni Di Lorenzo and Lorenzo Insigne. Udinese brought on Ignacio Pussetto, Lazar Samardzic, Brandon Soppy and Mato Jajalo, to replace Beto, Jean-Victor Makengo, Nahuel Molina and Roberto Pereyra.
The referee booked Amir Rrahmani and Victor Osimhen from Napoli. Udinese had the worst of it though, with Marvin Zeegelaar and Iyenoma Destiny Udogie seeing yellow, and Pablo Mari then sent off with a red.
Napoli will next travel to Atalanta, while Udinese will face Cagliari at home.
