On Sunday, Lecce and Empoli were held to a 1-1 draw at Via Del Mare. Lecce arrived at the match looking pick up points, following a previous defeat to Sassuolo whilst Empoli secured a point against Fiorentina in their previous match. As the table looks today, Lecce are in 15th place in the table and have 1 point while Empoli sit in 14th with 2 points after 3 matches.

The first half of the match started well for Empoli, with a goal from Fabiano Parisi at the 22 minute mark. However, their lead was short lived, as Gabriel Strefezza equalised for Lecce just before halftime, finishing the first half 1-1. The second half ended with little further action at either end and goalless.

Substitutions for Lecce included Kristoffer Askildsen, Federico Di Francesco, Marcin Listkowski, Alexis Blin and Lorenzo Colombo for Kristijan Bistrovic, Gabriel Strefezza, Lameck Banda, Joan Gonzalez and Assan Ceesay, repectively. Empoli replaced Sam Lammers, Filippo Bandinelli, Petar Stojanovic, Liam Henderson and Martin Satriano for Nedim Bajrami, Nicolas Haas, Tyronne Ebuehi, Alberto Grassi and Mattia Destro.

There were bookings for Lameck Banda from Lecce, and Razvan Marin and Petar Stojanovic, for Empoli.

Lecce will next play Napoli away, with Empoli facing Hellas Verona at home.
