Lazio 2 – Sassuolo 1: Neroverdi unable to avoid away defeat

Lazio snatched all three points from Sassuolo in a 2-1 victory on Saturday, at the Stadio Olympico. Lazio were looking forward to meeting again, following a previous defeat to Roma. Sassuolo, on the other hand, were able to continue their winning streak after a 4-1 win against Spezia Calcio in their last match. As the table looks today, Lazio and Sassuolo are 5th, (52 points) and 9th, (43 points), spots respectively, after 31 matches.
The White and Sky Blues started the game well, with a goal from Manuel Lazzari at the 17 minute mark. They then managed to see out the first half 1-0.
Lazio started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, thanks to Sergej Milinkovic-Savic finding the net at the 51 minute mark. In the end though, Neroverdi just before the final whistle hit back though following a Hamed Junior Traoré goal. The game ended 2-1.
For Lazio, Danilo Cataldi, Toma Basic and Jean Akpa, came on for Lucas Leiva, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Luis Alberto. Sassuolo brought on Rogerio, Abdou Harroui, Jeremy Toljan, Brian Oddei and Luigi Samele, to replace Giorgos Kyriakopoulos, Davide Frattesi, Mert Muldur, Gregoire Defrel and Gianluca Scamacca.
There were bookings for Felipe Anderson from Lazio, and Giorgos Kyriakopoulos, Davide Frattesi and Abdou Harroui, for Sassuolo.
Lazio will next travel to Genoa, while Sassuolo will face Atalanta at home.
