Lazio 3-3 Verona 3: Six-goal thriller in Rome ends in a share of the spoils

Lazio and Verona played a 3-3 game at the end of the Serie A season. This left, Lazio and Verona are 6th (63 points) and 9th (52 points) in the league respectively, after a total of 38 matches.

The first half of the game started well for Verona, thanks to Giovanni Simeone finding the net early in the first half. Verona looked to have the game under control when they scored again and increased their lead, thanks to a goal from Kevin Lasagna in the 14th minute to establish a 2-0. However, Lazio weren’t lying down and managed to pull back a goal from Jovane Cabral at the 16 minute mark. The White and Sky Blues then scored again and snatched an equaliser thanks to a goal from Felipe Anderson at the 29 minute mark. The score at half time was 2-2.

Lazio took the initiative in the second half, with Pedro finding the net at the 62 minute mark. In the end though, their celebrations were kept brief, as Martin Hongla equalised for The Yellow and Blues, 76 minutes in, leaving the final score at 3-3.

For Lazio, Dimitrije Kamenovic, Pedro, Lucas Leiva, Luka Romero and Jean Akpa, came on for Luiz Felipe, Mattia Zaccagni, Danilo Cataldi, Jovane Cabral and Toma Basic. Verona brought on Nicolo Casale, Adrien Tameze, Daniel Bessa, Pawel Dawidowicz and Fabio Depaoli, to replace Bosko Sutalo, Federico Ceccherini, Giovanni Simeone, Martin Hongla and Gianluca Caprari.

There were bookings for Luiz Felipe and Lucas Leiva from Lazio. For Verona, Martin Hongla, Miguel Veloso, Federico Ceccherini, Davide Faraoni, Nicolo Casale and Kevin Lasagna saw yellow.
