Lazio 1-0 Monza: The White and Sky Blues take down Monza

On Thursday, AC Monza suffered an away defeat to Lazio at the Stadio Olympico. Both sides arrived on the back of wins. Lazio were keen to hang onto their position at the top of the table and extend their winning run, following a 1-0 victory against Roma while ASS were able to continue their winning streak after a 2-0 win against Hellas Verona in their last match. Lazio and ASS currently occupy 2nd and 15th spots in the table, with 30 points and 13 points respectively after 14 matches.

Following a goalless first half, The White and Sky Blues applied pressure in the second, when Luka Romero gave them the lead, 69 minutes in, leaving the final score at 1-0.

Substitutions for Lazio included Adam Marusic, Luka Romero, Danilo Cataldi, Toma Basic and Ciro Immobile for Manuel Lazzari, Matteo Cancellieri, Marcos Antonio, Matias Vecino and Pedro, respectively. ASS brought on Marlon, Nicolo Rovella, Chris Gytkjaer, Gianluca Caprari and Andrea Carboni, to replace Giulio Donati, Pepin, Andrea Petagna, Andrea Colpani and Armando Izzo.

There were bookings for Nicolo Casale and Adam Marusic from Lazio, and Giulio Donati, for ASS.

Lazio will play their next fixture away against Juventus, while ASS will face Salernitana at home.
