Inter 1-2 AS Roma: Home defeat for Nerazzurri as Giallorossi shine

Roma eased past Internazionale in a 2-1 victory on Saturday at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza. Both Inter and Roma arrived at the match with previous defeats in the league. Inter were hoping to get something from this game after losing 3-1 to Udinese in their last match. Roma had lost their previous match against Atalanta. Inter are now in 7th place on the table and have 12 points while Roma sit in 4th with 16 points after 8 matches.

Inter started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, when Federico Dimarco gave them the lead, 30 minutes in. However, their lead was short-lived, as Paulo Dybala equalised for Roma, 39 minutes in, concluding the first half 1-1.

Giallorossi continued to apply pressure in the second period and were rewarded, when Chris Smalling found the net on the 75 minute mark, seing the match finish 2-1.

Substitutions for Inter included Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Matteo Darmian, Joaquin Correa, Robin Gosens, Raoul Bellanova and Valentin Carboni for Kristjan Asllani, Kristjan Asllani, Hakan Calhanoglu, Alessandro Bastoni, Denzel Dumfries and Federico Dimarco, respectively. Roma brought on Tammy Abraham, Mady Camara and Andrea Belotti for Paulo Dybala, Lorenzo Pellegrini and Nicolo Zaniolo.

There were bookings for Kristjan Asllani, Joaquin Correa, Robin Gosens and Nicolo Barella from Inter. For Roma, Nicolo Zaniolo, Gianluca Mancini and Chris Smalling saw yellow.

Inter will next play Sassuolo away, with Roma facing Lecce at home.
