Verona 1-2 Milan: Tonali winner lifts Rossoneri past The Yellow and Blues

Verona were defeated at home by AC Milan at the Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi on Sunday. Verona arrived at the match looking to pick up more points after losing 2-1 to Salernitana in their last match. Milan were coming from consecutive wins against Juventus and Empoli. Verona and Milan currently occupy 18th and 3rd spots in the table, with 5 points and 23 points respectively after 10 matches.

Rossoneri dominated the first half, when Miguel Veloso found the net on the 9 minute mark. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Koray Gunter equalised for Verona on the 19 minute mark and saw the first half out 1-1.

Milan continued to apply pressure in the second period and were rewarded, with a goal from Sandro Tonali on the 81 minute mark, seing the match finish 2-1.

Substitutions for Verona included Roberto Piccoli, Martin Hongla, Milan Djuric, Juan Cabal and Yayah Kallon for Ajdin Hrustic, Adrien Tameze, Thomas Henry, Giangiacomo Magnani and Simone Verdi, respectively. Milan brought on Divock Origi, Ante Rebic, Tommaso Pobega, Ismael Bennacer and Malick Thiaw, to replace Brahim Diaz, Olivier Giroud, Rade Krunic, Yacine Adli and Rafael Leao.

There were bookings for Giangiacomo Magnani, Martin Hongla and Davide Faraoni from Verona. For Milan, Theo Hernandez and Ante Rebic saw yellow.

Verona will next travel to Sassuolo, while Milan will face AC Monza at home.
