Genoa 2 – Juve 1: Home fans rewarded with victory at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris

Genoa’s 2-1 win over Juventus on Friday, was hard fought at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris. Genoa were looking to get back their winning ways after losing their last game 1-0 to Sampdoria whilst Juve were coming from consecutive wins against Venezia and Sassuolo. As it stands, Genoa are in 18th place, with 28 points from 36 matches, while Juve sit in 4th, with 69 points from 36.
After an un-eventful first half, Juve certainly were out of the blocks quickly in the second half, with an early goal from Paulo Dybala in the 48th minute. However, they were unable to maintain their lead, Albert Gudmundsson managed to equalize and take the sides off in the 87th minute at 1-1. However they weren’t finished yet and Domenico Criscito made it 2-1 just before the final whistle with a final score of 2-1.
For Genoa, Morten Frendrup, Kelvin Yeboah, Caleb Ekuban and Albert Gudmundsson, came on for Pablo Galdames, Manolo Portanova, Filippo Melegoni and Mattia Destro. Juve brought on Denis Zakaria, Alex Sandro, Federico Bernardeschi, Alvaro Morata and Marley Ake, to replace Arthur, Juan Cuadrado, Fabio Miretti, Dusan Vlahovic and Paulo Dybala.
There were bookings for Filippo Melegoni and Milan Badelj from Genoa, and Paulo Dybala, Daniele Rugani and Arthur, for Juve.
Genoa will next travel to Napoli, while Juve will face Lazio at home.
