Fiorentina enjoyed a mesmerising home victory against Roma at Stadio Artemio Franchi on Monday. Fiorentina arrived at the game looking pick up points, following a previous defeat to AC Milan. Roma secured a point against Bologna in their previous match. As the table looks today, both teams are on 59 points and occupy 7th and 6th places respectively after 36 matches.

The Purple One dominated the first half, thanks to an early penalty goal from Nicolas Gonzalez in the 5th minute. However they weren’t finished yet and Giacomo Bonaventura made it 2-0, at 11 minutes, finalising the first half 2-0. Both teams struggled to produce anything meaningful in the second half, leaving the final score at 2-0.
