Fiorentina 2-0 Verona: Comfortable for the Viola on home turf

Fiorentina beat Hellas Verona 2-0 on Sunday at Stadio Artemio Franchi. Both Fiorentina and Verona came from defeats in their previous league games. Fiorentina arrived at the match looking to pick up more points after losing 2-1 to Bologna in their last match. Verona had lost their previous match against Lazio. Fiorentina are now in 14th place on the table and have 6 points while Verona sit in 17th with 5 points after 7 matches.

The Purple One started the first half well, when Jonathan Ikone gave them the lead on the 13 minute mark, concluding the first half 1-0.

Fiorentina once more applied the pressure in the second period and were rewarded, with a goal from Nicolas Gonzalez just before the final whistle. The match ended with a 2-0 win for Fiorentina.
