Empoli 0-2 Atalanta: The Goddess leave Carlo Castellani with 3 points

Atalanta enjoyed an away victory against Empoli at Carlo Castellani on Sunday. Both teams arrived at the match with previous defeats in the league. Empoli were looking forward to playing again after losing their last match 4-0 to Juventus. Atalanta had lost their previous match against Lazio. Empoli are now in 12th place on the table and have 11 points while Atalanta sit in 2nd with 27 points after 12 matches.

Atalanta started the match strongly, when Hans Hateboer gave them the lead, 32 minutes in, saw the first half 1-0.

The Goddess continued to apply pressure in the second period and were rewarded, with a goal from Ademola Lookman, 59 minutes in, seing the match finish 2-0.

Substitutions for Empoli included Sebastian Walukiewicz, Ardian Ismajli, Nicolo Cambiaghi, Jacopo Fazzini and Jean Akpa for Sebastiano Luperto, Koni De Winter, Marko Pjaca, Liam Henderson and Filippo Bandinelli, respectively. Atalanta brought on Berat Djimsiti, Ruslan Malinovskyi, Duvan Zapata, Caleb Okoli and Nadir Zortea, to replace Giorgio Scalvini, Ederson, Rasmus Hojlund, Ademola Lookman and Joakim Maehle.

There were bookings for Koni De Winter and Mattia Destro from Empoli, and Hans Hateboer, for Atalanta.

Empoli next face Sassuolo while Atalanta are at home to Napoli.
