Cagliari 1 – Verona 2: The Yellow and Blues jubilant after away win against The Islanders

Hellas Verona’s 2-1 win over Cagliari on Saturday, was hard fought at Unipol Domus. Cagliari were looking to get back their winning ways after losing their last game 1-0 to Genoa. Verona are struggling for form following a draw in their last match. As the table looks today, Cagliari and Verona are 17th, (28 points) and 9th, (52 points), spots respectively, after 35 matches.

The first half of the game started favourably for Verona, thanks to Antonin Barak finding the net at the 8 minute mark. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Gianluca Caprari just before half-time to secure a 0-2 win.

The Islanders took the initiative in the second half, with a goal from Joao Pedro at the 57 minute mark. The game ended with a 2-1 victory for Verona.

For Cagliari, Nahitan Nandez, Marko Rog, Leonardo Pavoletti, Andrea Carboni and Gaston Pereiro, came on for Razvan Marin, Alessandro Deiola, Keita Balde, Edoardo Goldaniga and Raoul Bellanova. Verona brought on Miguel Veloso, Kevin Lasagna, Koray Gunter, Bosko Sutalo and Panagiotis Retsos, to replace Ivan Ilic, Antonin Barak, Martin Hongla, Federico Ceccherini and Gianluca Caprari.

There were bookings for Leonardo Pavoletti and Andrea Carboni from Cagliari, and Antonin Barak, Adrien Tameze, Martin Hongla and Giovanni Simeone, for Verona.

Cagliari will play away against Salernitana, while Verona will face AC Milan at home.
